People always ask me what my scrapbook room looks like, so here is a pic of one wall.

I have a special Ribbon Ring for the spools on the right side, so I dont have to pull them down to know what is on them. Each spool is labeled by a letter/number combo with the corresponding info on the Ribbon Ring tag. These spools have 10-100 yards on them. I just snip off a yard and put it on the Ribbon Ring.

Ribbon Ring gets a new foster dog

Meet Rue. He was an emaciated, extremely nervous, lost little dachshund that came to my local dog shelter. He stayed at the shelter for about a week and no one came forward to claim him. He was not coping well with shelter life and so I brought him home to foster him. He has made HUGE improvements with his nervousness and separation anxiety. My Mastiff, Bella, is such a good teacher. Rue is finally learning to RELAX (something Bella is good at). Working with Rue has been so much work, but to watch him transform into a normal dog is so very rewarding. I encourage you to give back to your community in any little way you can. Maybe you can go to your dog shelter and spend an hour a week volunteering. When you give comfort, you get comfort.

Foster Dog

Okay, so I know this isn't related to Ribbon Ring, but, I just have to post these cute pics. I volunteer at a local dog shelter and am frequently foster mom to puppies or injured dogs.

My latest baby is a little lab/pit puppy ??? and she is THE STINKING cutest thing ever. My foster dog stays with me until they are adopted, sometimes days, sometimes months. It is a very rewarding experience. Her name is Ziva, but I call her Carmelita Spatts. :) I also call her Chunka Munka, Didgeridoo or Loca Chica. If you have an hour to give once in awhile, consider helping out at your local dog shelter.

In my part of the country, spring is definately on the way. Crocusing are peeping their little heads out and forsythia are budding up.... my favorite time of year! I can't beleive it is almost time to plant sugar peas!

I've received many emails about bringing Ribbon Ring to scrapbook shows across the country, but this year I am going to take it easy and attend only the CHA shows in Chicago and Los Angeles.

It is a whole lot of fun to attend shows as a consumer, but is not really that fun as a exhibitor. It is A LOT of work, , it is expensive and I miss my family and friends.

Okay, so I had a moment. I needed some white grosgrain ribbon and I went online to order some and well.... look what happened.

There are over 50 spools with 10 - 100 yards each of delicious grosgrain. I am am going to cut 1 yard pieces of each spool today and put them on my Ribbon Rings, by color. I will use an inventory dot to let me know I have more of each of these (it some cases A LOT more) when I run out. Then I can store these spools under the bed until I use up what is on the Ribbon Ring.

Whew! That was a LLOOOONNNNGGGG drive. I took a different route this time. Going to Texas I let my GPS select the route...she didn't put me on the major highways at all.. must be a setting somewhere. I went through a lot of teensy little towns. They made the trip really interesting. On the way home, my husband wanted to stay on the main highways. NOT fun at all.

So, anyways, I wanted to mention a cute little western store I found in Texas: Kimmy's Rustic to Rhinestones in Cross Plains, Texas.

I got a beautiful necklace there. It has crosses with rhinestones on it and beautiful stones.... hard to explain, but it is sooo cute.

I would have taken the whole store home with me if it would have fit in the car. Everything in it was my style! They had luggage, clothing, home decor.... I am going to call them (they don't have a website) and see if she will ship some of the things I wanted but didn't get....

Anyone know of a store that carries fun western jewelry?

The San Marcos CK convention was a huge success and now I am driving back home. Here are some things I learned about Texas:

1. They drive trucks. Big trucks. I love this about Texas, I fit right in!

2. People are genuinely friendly. Go into any store/restaurant and the clerk will smile and engage in real conversation with you. I am so impressed with their hospitality.

Having a wonderful time at the Creating Keepsakes convention in San Marcos Texas this weekend! The weather is beautiful and these wonderful Texas ladies LOVE their ribbon! I am so excited to help them get it organized.

I will be driving back home over the next five days, so any orders placed during that time will be shipped when I get back.

I made some really cute pumpkin cupcakes during my evenings in the hotel, so I will take pics and post them on this blog when I return!

After a long stay in Florida, I am finally back home in Oregon. I had a great time in Orlando! I met a lot of wonderful scrapbookers and I look forward to going back if CHA does the Supershow again.

I was asked by a couple of publishers to write a book about my ribbon crafts. A how-to book if you will..... my ribbon flowers, truffles, cupcakes etc. I have tons more ribbon crafts that I haven't taken to the show too..... strawberries, ice cream cones, etc. I hope the book deal works out! How cool would that be?

Well, my boxes & displays did... WHEW! What a relief... it is always a HUGE stress that something will get lost or delayed and then what do you do in your booth for 5 days? Don't even want to think about it! I fly out to Orlando on Sunday. Not looking forward to that LONG flight.

I will be happy to be reunited with my displays (cupcakes, truffles, etc.), I have them sitting around my craft room for inspiration and I sure am missing them.
