We are now working on a prototype for larger ribbon ring tags. So, how wide do you want it? We have heard that a lot of scrapbookers use ribbon up to 2" wide. Anyone use ribbon wider than 2"? We want to make sure our new ribbon tags meet your needs!

Ribbon Ring on the Road.... transporting ribbon to a crop

People often ask me how I transport my ribbon when I go to crops... Well, I couldn't possibly take all of my ribbon! I have hundreds and hundreds of ribbons in each color. So, I make a to-go Ribbon Ring (as mentioned in a previous post), I roll it up in a hand towel and stick it in my scrapbook tote. The ribbon stays clean while in my bag and the Ribbon Ring hangs right on the back of my chair while I am working. Woo Hoo!!!

Rainbow Ribbon Ring

Here are some great ideas for your ribbon ring!

  • Put a small address label on your ribbon ring tag with the manufacturer name and where you bought it. This is very helpful for designers as they can easily document the ribbon product on their layout submission.

  • Make a "to-go" rainbow ring. There is no way on this planet I could take (or would want to take) all of my ribbon to a crop. I have 9 FULL rings people! So, I just make a "to-go ring" I take a 5 or 6 tags from each color family and put in one ring..that gives me 10-15 ribbons per color.. I roll that ring in a hand towel and stuff it in my scrapbook tote. When I get to the crop, I hang my rainbow ribbon ring on the back of my chair! YAY!

Post CHA... what do I do with the extra rings?

Hi all! I have been sooooo busy filling the orders from CHA that I haven't had time to do anything else!

I have a ton of 1.5" rings that I used as giveaways at CHA (I punched a hole in my business card and put the card and a threaded ribbon tag on the metal ring... it was sooo cute).

Any ideas as to what to do with these 1.5" rings? I don't sell this size on the Ribbon Ring webiste. I suppose if people wanted to sub-divide their ribbon rings by brand or something, then these little rings would work.... should I add them to the website?

In fact, I have had demonstrators from CTMH and Stampin' Up use smaller rings to subdivide their ribbon... all of one collection on a small ring, and all the small rings on a big ring....

What do you think??

Day One at CHA in Chicago!

What a day! So many fun booths I wish I could leave mine and take a peek around! Lots of wonderful people came by the booth today. Some had even heard of Ribbon Ring. YAY!
A few people thought I was selling ribbon (I have all of my ribbon rings with me) and tried to buy them! "I'd like the pink one please"! I just laugh and tell them it took me years to collect all that ribbon and it is priceless...

Once I tell people about the ribbon ring, they get that "OH WOW!" look and the lightbulb goes off! I got a lot of compliments on the Ribbon Ring system and a lot of LSS that want to carry it. Hurrah!

Tonite I found a really great Italian restaurant called Olivetis. The homemade pasta is TO DIE FOR. I might go back tomorrow night too!

You know what is strange in Chicago? Their ranch salad dressing! At every restaurant it is the same ranch dressing and it is REALLY sweet, much different than I am used to! Funny how food is different depending on what area of the country you live in!

My feet don't hurt nearly as much as I thought they would, My pink cowboy boots are really keeping me comfortable. Looking forward to tomorrow. I hope lots more people stop by to say hi to me!

Ribbon Ring in scrap rooms

I would love to see how you hang your ribbon ring in your scrap space. I have heard people use:

  • curtain rods
  • coat racks
  • coat hook
  • towel rod
Please send me a pic of your beautiful space and I will post it on this blog! You have probably all seen mine on the website, but it is posted above.

Really nice note from customer

I got the sweetest note today. A customer sent me this email:

"I was one of the lucky ones who tested your product. I just wanted to say it was so cool to see your 'ribbon ring' in the scrapbook magazines. I've had so many ideas that I was too scared or lazy to try to make it work. It really goes to show that someone who loves to scrapbook can make themselves a success just by believing in themselves. I hope you are a huge success...I don't even know you and I am so proud to see someone believe in themselves and make 'it' work. "

How nice is that? She made my day!!

More rings! Yay!

I now carry three ring sizes! 3", 2.5" and 2" rings. Personally, I LOVE THE 3" RINGS.
They are nicely weighted, the hold over 100 ribbon ring tags and they close nicely. So loving them....all of my ribbon ring tags are on 3" rings now. :)

I am thinking of carrying 1" rings.... they are really, really cute.

I have freinds that are CTMH and Stampin' Up demonstrators. They hang their ribbon by "families". They hang a family on a 1" ring and then all of their CTMH 1" rings on a larger rings. Very cute and practical.

I had a customer request that I carry 5" rings. Whoa! A 5" ring would hold close to 200 ribbon ring tags, I would guess. I don't know how many people would be interested in a ring of that size....Anyone?

Ribbon Ring

It is a beautiful day in Oregon! IT is a balmy 55 degrees and sunny. Woo Hoo!

I am in the process of registering for CHA Summer Convention. I think it will be fun to get out and meet the LSS owners in person. I am so looking forward to it.

I am working with a local organization that gives jobs to people with disabilities. If I get busy enough, I will have these folks do the packaging of my product. I hope it works out!

Today's customer testimonial:

"I found out about the ribbon rings through a friend of mine who placed an order week before last. We are doing are best talking them up with our group of friends. Best of luck to you! You have a great product!" CQ

Creating Keepsakes Convention is this weekend!

Holy crap. The CK-Portland convention is this weekend. I think I am all ready... my husband and I will set up the booth on Thursday, so I guess we will find out then if I have forgotten anything.

I have changed the number of inventory dots included with my Ribbon Ring tags. I am going to include 15 with thirty ribbon tags, 30 with sixty tags and 30 with ninety tags. We'll see how that goes. I also added inventory dots as something people can buy in case they want more.

Here is today's testimonial:
"My package arrived promptly, and was very attractively packaged (I love the pink ribbon-nice touch) and the handwritten thank-you note on my invoice personalized the whole thing. Great job! Keep up the good work - I'm sure I'll be ordering from you again, and plan to tell ALL of my scrapbooking buddies that they just HAVE to order these tags!" CM

I invented a new ribbon storage product about 6 months ago. It has been an arduous journey....

It is not easy to bring a product sketch to reality. I have been in unfamiliar territory to say the least! Writing a patent, working with plastic manufacturers, building a website, creating an ad, filling orders, working with scrapbook retailers, renting a booth at a convention, etc. etc.

All of this while still being a mother, wife, friend, daughter and working full-time at my real job.

Throughout this process, I have made friends with so many of my customers that I thought I would create a blog to share funny customer stories, product news, etc.

For anyone who is looking for a new ribbon storage solution, check out my website: http://www.ribbonring.com/. There are lots of pics and information about Ribbon Ring.

Today's testimonial from a customer:

"I received the ribbon rings that I ordered........have been meaning to contact you.....Love them.....Love them." - VL
